It’s far too common to interchange ‘covering the physical body’ with ‘modesty.’ Modesty isn’t simply covering your skin or your hair or your figure; Modesty is a behaviour. Modesty is to be shy or embarrassed of the things that make your physical AND intrapersonal self beautiful. Modesty is one’s desire to keep their intelligence, or perfect figure, or talents unknown to others out of fear of the blessings one’s Creator has given oneself. Modesty is the opposite of arrogance and is reflected through sincerity and appreciation of the qualities one has been blessed with.
